Yash Paz (full name Yash Ram Pazhianur) is a composer based in New York City.
After spending five years at The Juilliard School’s Precollege Division as a composition major under Professor Ira Taxin, Yash is now pursuing an undergraduate degree at the Steinhardt School at New York University (NYU) majoring in concert composition under Professor Justin Dello Joio.
Yash is also an aspiring concert pianist, studying piano under Elisha Abas, and has performed many piano repertoires including his own solo compositions.

Yash has won multiple awards and recognitions for his original compositions. In 2016 he was the winner of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra’s (ASO) Elgar Enigma composer competition K-8 category. In 2017 he was the winner of the ASO Pictures at an Exhibition composer competition in the High School category. Yash won 2nd place in the Salomé Young Artist Grace D. Carpenter competition in 2017. He was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 2019 Tribeca New Music Young Composer Competition. He was also a finalist in 2018 and awarded an Honorable Mention in 2021 for the ASCAP Foundation Morton Gould Young Composer Competition. In 2020 he was accepted at the BUTI (Tanglewood) Young Artists Composition Program with a $1500 merit-based scholarship.
Yash performed his first international joint solo piano recital in Changsha, China in 2016. More recently, he performed the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 as the soloist with the Ra’anana Symphonette Orchestra in Israel in March 2020. Yash is set to perform the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 in 2022.
